Ugh all of Nvidias conference presentations for like the last 2 years have been about Self driving cars and ANNs, I get it, there awesome and they move the industry forward, but they have basically just been re iterating the same thing over and over, we need more new stuff! What happened to all there cool graphics demos and innovations. We need more innovation for graphics like pushing forward on real time ray traced renderers, not necessarily something that strictly aims for realism but something that very quickly approximates ray tracing to a degree that could be used in a game. Sure we have Screen Space Ray-traced Reflection, but that doesn't play well with stuff like glass, mirrors, etc. Also sorting transparent objects automatically in a depth test would be AMAZING sure we can get decent quality by creating a sorting system but if you have edge cases like a large transparent object that wraps around another transparent object no amount of sorting magic can save you there. I see far to many AAA games with transparent object sorting artefacts that should have been solved years ago once and for all.
