What a fabulous episode. Jet Boils are certainly efficient for boiling water and utterly unique in design. The Genesis is as revolutionary as the original Jet Boils I reckon. You two asked some excellent questions that gave us a lot more insight into the issues for gas stoves and regulations in Australia, as well as more Jet Boil specific stuff. It seems you can do pretty much what ever you want to modify vehicles in the USA too, so not surprising their regulations around gas are also pretty lenient. I like being safe, so don't begrudge those safety regulations we impose. I could feel Mike squirming with a couple of questions that related to internal confidentiality agreements re future products, so clearly some pressures there when dealing with something as novel as being interviewed on Snowy's Camping Show. He was a fantastic and fascinating guest, who really knows his stuff and is at the forefront of innovative design. Thanks and well done, Lauren and Ben, for organising Mike Hebert as a guest and dealing with the inconvenience of two very different time zones, which clearly required variation of your usual start times.

That change to the locking of the pot is great. I always have issues with mine.

Great episode! I love the new ignition. I have the Flash 1L but think I might need to upgrade. The Genesis is definitely a future purchase.

I love both my Genesis Basecamp System and my Sumo. IMO, their designs are head and shoulders above the competition. Their cleaver nesting compact footprint when packed, are a highlight. I though the Sumo packed extremely well where it can fit all its component (incl. a 230g gas cannister) within the pot. But that now pales in comparison compared to how the dual burner Genesis Basecamp System packs and nest all its components into a small footprint (minus the gas cannister). ❤

Completely moving to a Jetboil ecosystem. Started off with the Jetboil Zip, then got the Flash 1.0 and now getting a genesis. Love the flux ring systems and how: (a) quickly heat is dissipated; and (b) it saves on use of gas!

Great video!..probably the best I've seen about the Jetboil range and all the important aspects of this type of stove. Now then, I just wish they'd sell a Zip type pot with a Piezo igniter. Best wishes from Pom land :-)

That was a very interesting episode. I have no experience personally with Jetboil but I have seen a lot of cpies so they must be a good product. Mind you in the camping industry, there is a lot of copying going on.

Never used them, but they feel quality for the high price. Wow big difference from the scout outdoor centre of the early 80s cheap aluminium. Haha

Why is Jetboil so expensive? Is is just a case of paying for the name?

For the money they suck. Also you can’t use a pan or pot unless it’s also a jetboil. I use a Soto stove which is fantastic.
