Center for Synthetic Biology, Copenhagen- Plant Pathway Discovery

Plants are the best chemists in the world. With the ability to produce complex, useful molecules out of renewable resources, harnessing their ability is a priority for everything from medicine to food production.

The Center for Synthetic Biology is a cross disciplinary research center at University of Copenhagen focusing on plant pathway discovery. In their work to understand the modular nature of plant pathways, and the possibility of transferring one plant’s capacity for creating certain molecules to another, they’re working on everything from basic research, application through collaboration with a range of food and pharmaceutical companies, as well as outreach to the wider community to help people understand the implications of the research.

With a dynamic range of talented researchers, the Center for Synthetic Biology is ready to make major changes to the way we understand and the way we use plant biology.
