No Boebert, what we did was make it harder to ACCESS the weapons used (in that case, planes). That’s all responsible people want; make it harder to access weapons.

“We didn’t ban planes” - spoken by someone who was all of what, 14, 15 years old when 9/11 occurred? As others have mentioned, she apparently does not understand the NIGHT AND DAY difference of air travel and air security prior to 9/11 versus now. I also don’t remember needing to remove my shoes, belt, all metal items and state my purposes and have a state-certified ID before any gun purchase I’ve made at a gun show. I’m definitely also not able to go to the local rest stop and meet a man named “Smitty” to buy a black market 737, either.

They didn't ban Bowling alleys, just because her husband exposed himself in one.

Well, we actually did ban planes for a few days, as I recall.

Planes are incredibly safe.
There's a good reason for that. *Massive amounts of regulation at every level.*
When something goes wrong that causes deaths or even a risk of injury there are procedures in place to identify what went wrong and how it can be prevented in future, leading to *more regulations.*
Let's apply that model to gun ownership.

We did ban open and free boarding of planes and created an entire gov't entity to inspect every passenger. If we did at least that much for people who wanted to buy a gun, the effect on mass shootings would be measurable.

But we also don't sell planes at walmart and let literally anybody, including our kids fly them. Right, Lauren Boebert?

How about educational prerequisites to run for any public office.
Get it together America!

I agree it's a stupid argument, however planes are not constitutionally protected.

Zoom! The sound of the point flying right over her head!

Sad that there's people who think she has any credibility at all. What a disgrace!

That's right: we did not ban airplanes. We LIMITED ACCESS to airplanes.

We also didn't just secure the cockpit they overhauled the way we travel. People used to be able to wait with us and see us off. There are scans and people have to take off their shoes and belts. This woman is insane!!!

Whenever Boebert or Marjorie Greene cross my screen, I like to pretend I'm watching inter-dimensional cable.

I've read that in the major inner cities of America. Lots of gun homicides happen. I don't ever hear a big movement to stop the violence there.

Has she not been on a plane since then? I remember when you use to be able to see your loved ones off, but now only people with a ticket can get close to a plane. Also, even if all that changed was the securing of the cockpit, that STILL SOMETHING. It amazes me how she has the balls to holds a situation where they actually made rule changes up, as a reason to do nothing. How the Hell, does that even makes sense???? So she is saying that us literally changing the security procedures that we use on planes and airports across the world is the same as doing 0 on gun control. humm sounds about right. What is she smoking?

And the people in her district voted for that again.😳

We live outside houston, and the skies were eerily quiet except for air National Guard jets and cobra helicopters constantly flying over us protecting NASA, all the big oil and gas factories and tanks, and offshore drilling rigs. It was scary.
Sure, planes are flying again, but now AR-15's are flying too-- right of the shelves. Bought and used 5 minutes later. You can't go anywhere without your head on a swivel. God damn grocery store, the mall, Walmart, etc. The real danger now is some deviant mf with an ax to grind. right around the corner.

How about securing the southern border? How about securing a school?
