I just used a 1-1/2 piece of PVC that I cut just a little longer than the slider. Slid that over the slider and used a 2x4 as a mallot. I do have a vice, so that helps, but it still make me paranoid that it might crack the shafts, even though I wrapped them in rags.

I have an 82, isnt the back up plate the same as the washer you put in-between the seal and c clip? Also that otjer washer, under the seal, goes with the little hill facing up?

You need to put the bike on the center stand. The inspection window is on the right side under the valve cover next to the block. It's got a little screw in the middle of the window. That is a little wiper blade that you can spend round and round and it will clean off the window so you can see it better

Dude! could you help me? I own a 1892 Goldwing 1100 Interstate and I can not find the engine Oil inspection window or something to check the oil level.
