I used to get ribbon candy from a local shop that only just closed and got bulldozed post-pandemic, it had been running for 50+ years. They only made it around Thanksgiving and you had to order a month or more in advance. It was so thin and delicate and precious. Keep the skills alive

It wasn't the Christmas season in my house when I was a kid until you had multiple tins of ribbon candy. it was my dad's favorite. I love you dad and miss you...

For anyone who wondered about the texture of ribbon candy, it’s the same texture as a thin lollipop, or LifeSaver. It’s a hard candy that once broken, tastes a lot like a lollipop but without the stick in the middle.

When I was a little kid, I used to do yard work for an elderly woman a few streets over, and her snack she always brought me after working was lemonade and ribbon candy. She also had every room in her house decorated year round for a different holiday, and her backyard was set up like a botanical garden, with a bunch of walkways and different kinds of plants. That was in the early 90s and I still think that old lady was cool.

I love that you've taken this wonderful, old fashioned candy shop and modernized it only by bringing it to the world. And by doing that, you have brought us ALL back in time. Incredible circle of life! 🥰🥰🥰

Ribbon candies are the hardest to find these days. My grandmother in the 70s kept them on a candy dish for us grandkids and we ALWAYS had the most lovely ribbon candies during the holidays. ❤

I love ribbon candy. Your mother has a lot of patience to make each ribbon candy so beautiful and exactly the same as the last one. Amazing video! ❤❤

My favorite!

My Grandad and Nana (GranNana I call them) would buy this every December for the whole family. The assorted flavor one.

Gosh, this video brought nostalgic tears to my eyes and heart.

I can absolutely relate to frustrating machines. I used to work at a bakery, packaging sandwiches, and the flow machine we used would work perfectly on the first batch, then just ruin everything halfway through the second. Then I would loose an hour trying to get it to work (my boss wanted to use it as it was in all honesty more efficient) and have to package the last three batches by hand.
I hated that thing

Nothing can be as same as parents home made/ hand made stuff. It has their own talent/ spirit in it! Kudos to your mom
