The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett is a murder mystery fantasy that's just casually gay and I LOVED it so much

My favs from this year are Bookshops & Bonedust and Basil & Oregano, both books are so heartwarming and so good! I also loved Hooky which has a queer romance but it’s not as prominent as the other two

I finally read Role Playing by Cathy Yardley and I'm so mad I waited so long. It had such good Demi rep (TW for phobia). Also I loved Skater Boy as well

The book that I am reading right now is sapphic and ace. It's called Someone You Can Build a Nest In. I must also mention that it's weird - that's the best I can describe it. WEEEIRRD

I read Winters Orbit by Everina Maxwell for the first time this year and what I was expecting to be shallow fun queer romance turned into exciting sci-fi political drama with a really heart-felt slow burn romance. AUGH IT WAS SO GOOD.

My favourite queer books I've read this year are:
💙In Other Lands - this book owns my heart, can't recommend it enough, Elliot is now one of my all time favourite characters I love him so so much 😭
❤You Should Be So Lucky - this is perfection, I cried from happiness reading this book, so warm and wholesome 🥲 also I loved the themes and how they were handled, another addition to my all time favourite books
🤎The Space Between Worlds - so awesome both in concept and execution, I did not see the plot twists coming at all, loved it
🖤All Systems Red and Artificial Condition - Murderbot is such a great character, can't wait to read next novella in the series, I had the best time
🧡She Who Became The Sun - I could not stop reading, the writing is beautiful and it has great characters and commentary

I added a couple of these to my never ending TBR lol. I’ve been continuing to love the Monsterous series by Lily Mayne 😈. Got to love gay monster romance set in a post apocalyptic American where monsters and their boyfriends take on the US Military 🎉

I would definitely recommend Pet by Akwaeke Emzi! It's a great ya book with a trans protagonist! It's about a girl who finds out that her supposedly utopian society has a drak secret. It's really great and has a prequel which I think is good but mot as great. I would loon up the trigger warnings as it does drive into some upsetting topics. But I think it's 100 per cent a great read!

My favorite queer reads this year so far:
Night's Edge by Liz Kerin (lesbians and dealing with a vampiric virus in society)
Trouble by Lex Croucher (a hilarious historical romance with bisexual and trans rep)
The Prospects by KT Hoffman (a gay baseball romance with a trans main character)
You Again by Kate Goldbeck (two very messy bisexuals fall into friendship, then love)
