I went into town this morning and went to a charity shop. Found a windcheater in my size with press studs on sleeves and throat, zippered pockets for just £9.00 or $12 on your side of the pond so I got it for a quarter of the price of the cheapest smock I could find over here.

Dude very timely vid! I was just looking for a pattern to embark on a sewing project! I may actually have a windbreaker 6 feet from me in my closet! May add a little Velcro to the collar and BAM! 👍

Who would cover a smock? You, and right now I'm looking for one and you just turned my head in another (cheaper) direction - thank you

I love Yes I agree those turning smocks are way too expensive....Let me know if you ever find a pattern....

If that open collar gets old you might try a welding jacket.   You can get them for  under $30 many places.

@BradburyGuy Your Welcome Guy. I actually thought about going to get another windbreaker for woodturning and keeping this one to wear. I really like this one.

Great idea! Think I will have my wife put a snap to hold collar tight around the neck.

I tried using a rain jacket but my arms sweat too much. Does the windbreaker make you sweat?

Hi, after watching your video I bought an old man jacket from a charity shop (thrift store) for £5.  Saving me £40 on the cost of a smock.  Good idea thanks!
