Oh my god, Outward 2!
The first game is just the best, I loved throwing my backpack to the side as enemies engaged on me, it was such a realistic mechanic for open world combat! And the frustration of dying was gone in an instant when you realized you were captured instead, having to search for your stuff and get the hell out of the enemy lines! Losing didn't end the adventure, it just changed it.

Can't wait for the sequel!

Akatori - Has solid movement and clarity of frames. Some clear borders might help but maybe it's a style thing otherwise the art is nice. One to watch though it sounds like it may have a bit more of a journey in development still to go.

Amedama - Looks like a hidden gem with the solid combat (side-scroll) plus soul-shifting opening up potentially loads of rewarding options of different options and combat styles. The trailer does a solid job show-casing a range of diverse characters to interact or possess too. Definitely one of the most "captivating" indie games so far this year!

Games like Duskfade straddle that uncomfortable line between taking inspiration from something, and imitating it to a point it's almost a lawsuit waiting to happen lol. That and it looks like they borrow so much from the inspiration they limit their own personal creativity they could have put into it. The characters clothes, sound effects, enemies, and the drops from defeated enemies is a not so subtle rip-off.
