LET'S PRETEND-THE RASPBERRIES (NEW ENHANCED VERSION)

Number 2 installment of the Raspberries requests I've had. This was a tricky song to enhanced because I did not want to track anything more than necessary because it's is a legendary recording as it is. I reworked some of the background vocals to bring them more out front with Eric Carmen. I had a clean digital copy to work with but it did not have the extended ending so I had to splice 2 versions together and the 2nd one was not as good so if you hear a difference near the end that is why. Hope you all like it.

Absolutely brilliant -- stunning clarity with the different guitars and background vocal parts. I've always loved this song -- it's pure pop but with very sophisticated chord changes. Speaking of the background vocals, the harmonies are so dense and compelling -- easily on a par with the Beach Boys. And that bridge -- holy crap, it's to die for. Thanks for posting this. I will listen again and again (as I have for over 50 years).

For some reason, this group never got the acclaim that other bands did back in the day, but they wrote a lot of very good pop songs and this re-mastering is excellent!

I remember hanging out with Eric after a gig of his when 'All By Myself " was a hit. I was barely a teenager and what a night. I managed to get the photos someone took of us for whatever reason. Eric would turn around and have his arm across my back if he caught a photo coming. I framed the best one, as we were leaving and framed it and still have it. The others are also kept. With all his talent, he didn't ever think he got big enough. Sad now to think of the troubles he has now. As a Singer/Songwriter/Musician now myself, his complex personality is understandable. Yet I hear this Song and remember him then, and he was real with me. If only he could drop the angry side he probably always had, a dark side. Maybe Artists feel it, especially when they are all by themselves too much. It happens to everyone, but we tend to dwell on it. He sang this to me and I will always cherish it.
