I used a vinyl flooring without the pad and no underlayment in my basement and it’s fine. Saved some money.

I having a luxury vinyl plank with 7mm thickness and 22 mils that is going over a wood subfloor. With that level of thickness do you still recommend an extra underlayment? I know this will help with sound reduction which I desperately need.

on a elevated shed, do you need underlayment for LVT, or rosin paper or plastic? Or Kilz paint?

Yes you do if you want it soundproof over wooden subfloors

Very misleading, if ur over a concrete subfloor, u need a vapor barrier, most underlayment has attached or is rated for vapor.
