Massive DIY CD Ripping station.

At first I thought a robot system would work faster, but you still have to take each CD out of the case and put them back in, the disk is already in your hand, so this is a slight bit faster than a robot if you included that in mind.

Beautiful setup! I’m thinking about dusting off my design for a disc robot ; have a pile of discs, pick one up load it, rip it and keep doing that till the pile is empty. Kind of a robot arm thingy.

Youtube randomly recommended this to me and I'm never happier! It's been so long since I remember ripping my own CDs at home on my own machine. Now none of my machines have CD drives and I'm hoping to get one soon to make all of my physical media digital.

This is awesome. Love it. I have thousands of CDs that I'd like to rip. Can you give me more details on how you made the connections from the server to all those drives? Are they usb drives, sata? I'm surprised windows could actually handle all that input/device management without falling on it's face too much.
Anyways, kudos mate! If you give me more details or send me a link to more of the build specs I'd love to try and replicate what you built. I have plenty of hardware server wise to handle it, having decommissioned a few datacenters over time.

you should meet my robots, 100 disc in (per robot) about 1.5hrs to go thu them all, i'm running 4 robots...
