Review: Court Case of Yanukovych's State Treason
Показать описание
The verdict is in. Ousted Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has been found guilty of treason and sentenced to 13 years in prison. Prosecutors had asked for 15 years. The judges in the trial read the verdict aloud, which amounted to more than 120 pages of text. Earlier, prosecutors succeeded in proving the ex-president guilty of treason. As a reminder - Yanukovych was tried in absentia for appealing to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a call to send Russian troops to Ukraine. In particular, the court found that on March 1st, 2014, Yanukovych, while on Russian territory deliberately tried to justify Russian aggression by making the appeal.
