I once his on a shelf in my garage... it took a while for my parents to find me. Here are some hiding tips from me:

1- Pee Before You Hide
I don’t know why, but whenever I hide, I always have to pee. I get a feeling of excitement, and then in the middle of the round, I would run to the bathroom. This obviously caused me to be the first to be found. So, just tell the others that you need a break before you start playing.

2- Don’t Giggle, Squeal, Or Make Any Noises
I’m not saying don’t breathe, I’m just saying do it If you’re making any laughing noise or giggles because the seeker walked past you five times, that’s sure gonna get you found REAL quick. If you can’t hold laughing in, make sure it’s quiet. My four year old self used to do this, and I hella regret it now, because remembering how much noise I made, I could’ve won if I just shut up!

3- Hide In Unexpected Places
Most seekers don’t expect you to hide to close to base, because if you’re an intelligent human, then you know that you’re most likely to get found there. Hide in a clothes rack with sweatpants on, and a hoodie. That way, nobody would see your skin. If you were wearing socks, change into a different pair, that way nobody can recognize you. They would think that you’re a normal pair of clothes. Or, just hide in a place where your parents or friends think you’d never hide.

4- Ask For Help/Helping
If you and another hider and going to be hiding together, it’s important to be helping. If you’re a tall giraffe, and your friend is a smol bean, lend them a hand if you guys are trying to hide in a high spot. Reach out for your friend, then pull them up. Or, if your friend is trying to get in a tight spot with objects around them, clear the way for your friend, then let them in the spot, and put the boxes (Whatever is near you) in front of your friend. There are many ways to help fellow hiders, so don’t be afraid to ask someone for help! (You can also ask a spectator for help, too.)

5- “Snitches Get Stitches!”
Do you have an older sibling that likes to tell your seekers where you are? I have a younger brother. He _loves_ to do this. I also have dogs that track me down. My mom puts the dogs in the garage, and if my brother is a “Spectator”, then he switched to a seeker, he would tell my mom where I was. If you have someone that does this, politely ask them to stop. If they don’t listen, well, that’s their problem. You either get the good siblings, or the bad. Mine just happens to be right in the middle.
Also, if you have dogs that sniff you out in hide and seek and you don’t like it, put them in the garage or another room.


You thought I would forget about tips for the seekers? Wrong! (These also go along with the hiders tips.)

1- Listen For Shuffling
If someone has to use the bathroom, and they need to do it badly, listen for noises of someone trying to hold it in, like soft whining, feet being rubbed together, and whispering to themselves about how bad they need to go. Hey, if they get found, it’s a bonus too! I’d rather find my brother in an uncomfortable position than a puddle of pee...

2- Listen For Random Noises
If there are teams (two seekers, two hiders.), listen for whispering. Someone might be trying to communicate, and help another fellow hider. Listen for boxes being moved around if a hider is trying to fit through a tight spot. Once you locate where the sounds are coming from, well, go and find em killer!

3- Look In Every Nook And Cranny
As mentioned in tip 3 for the hiders, check near home base (Where you counted from.). Someone might me trying to outsmart you, and think that they can get away with it. But, YOU can catch em!

4- Spread Out
If there are multiple seekers and you’re all looking in one place, that’s not gonna get you anywhere. Spread out. If you have three seekers and a three story house, then send one seeker per floor (I think I did the math right...).

5- Set Boundaries
You will definitely need to set boundaries. If you don’t know what those are, boundaries are limits on how far you can go. If there are no limits, then hiders will think that they can go to another country!
