Here we are in May of 2023. Bushel prices are dropping to $5.70.
It's crazy to think that a truck load only brings like $6k while I learn the crazy high costs of seeds, fertilizer, diesel, repairs, taxes, land rent if renting the land, etc. I ask how in the heck do y'all do it? (Jonesville, WI)

Corn is averaging $6.8-$7 a bushel as of 9-16-22, going to be a good year for farmers!!! FYI, this price is an all time high in history.

Thank you for the explanation. Now I understand that confusion. Love how you went from making money to demonstrating how to almost lose a chunk in the first 10 seconds. Farming is the only business where you need a full time job off the farm just to earn a living. It's sad. I think everyone should spend a week on a farm doing the work and then going to a full time job every day. Maybe more people would be willing to pay more for their food, but they will never understand why people farm. It can't be explained simply. It's in the blood. Stay safe. God bless.

poison ivy sucks my brother ended up in hospital from it. Burned a ton of it when clearing some land. He must have gotten down wind of it. It was in his throat and longs. Doctors said it could have killed him. Good video

You bought that sweet Farmall 450, dualled it up, and hit the field with an umbrella attached to the axle for shade.

Great video and super interesting for someone who's not a farmer :). Sorry if I missed this in the video, but I'm wondering if farmers store their grain until they can get a decent price. If so, approximately how long is this grain stored? Do you "restart" and dump the old grain with a new crop? Convert it to feed?

Farm question. I see in your intro a harvest of corn when it was still green. Here on the east coast its normally late October or November when they harvest and corn stalks are dried up light brown. Just wondering what the difference is

Do you ever plan or would you like to do this full time in the future or do you like your JD job.
