Did anyone notice the discrepancy in the dates from 2-01 to 2-02? Ep 2-01 has Jamie & Claire arriving in France in 1745. Ep 2-02 begins a few months after their arrival...but the date is identified as 1744.

My nephew and his wife are deep into this, I'll have to catch up with them. I lived and studied in France in the early 70's and it is a very different culture from Anglo Saxon/North American ways of living. Enjoyment of life and life's pleasure is far more important than relentless self denial. But at the same time socially and politically they were almost medieval in thinking. The industrious British and Dutch were horrified by the sight of near naked French peasants begging by the side of the road while vast acreages went fallow because owning virgin forest for hunting was preferred over renting farms out for production.

From what I gathered in this teaser, I'm afraid I will be disappointed by the use of the French language.
