Lincoln, Nebraska is home to a college football cathedral. For 100 years, a once simple stadium has become hallowed ground for a sport and a state.

Memorial Stadium, home of the Nebraska Cornhusker football team, is a mecca of the sport. On Saturdays in the fall, the fans that fill the stadium make it the third largest city in the state. To mark the 100th anniversary of Memorial Stadium, Nebraska Public Media will take viewers on a journey through the evolution of the stadium, from the original east and west stands built in 1923 to today’s 90,000 capacity venue that meets the changing expectations of diehard fans. Join us as we look back at the first 100 years of the stadium that is synonymous with Saturdays in Nebraska.

Historic documentary here, such rich history and I’m thankful to be part of it. I also believe a new stadium could be the direction to go before investing hundreds of millions of dollars into this one. That time is drawing near.
