Sudanese Muslim scholars caution against religious extremism

Sudanese Guidance and Endowments Minister Dr Ammar Mirghani Hussein,says Sudan has a major role to play in preventing terrorism and sectarian extremism in Africa. Speaking ahead of a Conference on Terrorism and Sectarian Extremism, the Minister said Sudan needed to educate communities about the risk of radicalization and extremism. He cautioned those within the community against supporting extremist movement, saying this was counter-productive, as it helped spread a negative imagine of Islam.
