This video, looped 4 times, (or an 8 hour 'rain and thunder' video), is perfect background noise for sleeping through the night to.

Love that you talk about this without rolling your eyes. Thanks JMG!

One of my favorite thought experiments by far; I'm fascinated with the vast gulfs of time between us and the distant past. Thank you!

Your Bob Ross comment made me subscribe. I'm a fan of those happy little nebulae. Keep up the good work.

I got to thinking the other day about the 'Sounds of Earth' that Sagan had put on the Voyagers, and how Hawking thought it was a bad idea. That we shouldn't announce our existence openly without any regard.

NDT thinks that we might chase down the Voyagers someday and put them in a museum.

What if....we found them just as we sent them except the golden discs are missing. Something is aware of us.

Another great compilation, I appreciate the longer form on topic.

I don't think that we'll ever find intelligent life on earth.

Change playback speed to 0.5 and it’s like listening to that one drunk dude during a party who just won’t shut up about his obscure theories.

I had the same thought about the Roswell crash, about them traversing millions or billions of miles and then fudging the landing. But, the more I thought about it, when you're slowing down or dropping out of warp if your calculations are off just by the most minuscule fraction, I could see how it would be quite easy to slam into the body here trying to land on.

5:21 I actually thought they did find a meteorite, in the 80s (date could be wrong) that contained tiny life forms.

I think some recent uncovered discoveries, and the Younger Dryas flood myths shared in just about every single religion about the same flood. Humanity existed before the flood catastrophe, and were very advanced. Yet their advances will seem completely alien to us as their advances evolved far differently than ours.

Interesting JMG you should do a show on out-of-place-artifacts(OOPA) if there is/was/will be a reset maybe OOPAs are evidence of that.

A "Von Baron Probe". If the 2hrs of this video weren't already worth it (and they were), that last joke would've done it all by itself. I'm dead. LOL

If other life forms have similar lifetimes, then the speed of light and the inertia needed to be overcome make it highly unlikely we have been visited or ever will be.

One brazilian writer once published a humor short story where an alien craft crashes on Earth, and earthlings are astounded to find out that the flying saucer has a chimney and is powered by a coal boiler, just like a locomotive, has plywood hatches and the aliens have no concept of the wheel or the number zero. Quite funny.
