Ever wonder where the electricity comes from when you flip a switch or turn on your TV? Take a tour of GP&L’s Ray Olinger Power Plant and find out! Plant administrator Tony Coburn shows us how Olinger’s four gas-fired units operate to produce approximately 400 megawatts of electricity. (That’s enough to power 80,000 homes on a Texas summer day!)

Great video on the generation of reliable electricity 24/7 regardless of the weather.

As a surveyor for a local engineering company, I laid out the Olinger 4 unit. This is the first time I ever saw it in operation....Thanks for the video.

I wish everyone I talked to was as precise and accurate as this guy. Wow!! I'm guessing he was in the service at one point in his past!! Great video, and he explained everything well

Your plant brings back memories, I worked for about 25 years (1978 to 2002) in a natural gas power plant. The layout was similar to the Olinger plant. Nice video...

That would be a turbine at the end of the gas generator, not a fan.

After the 2021 freeze, this video is nothing to be proud of.
