Fun fact: Kelly time is based on the plot of the 2000 American survival drama film “Cast Away”, sung from Wilson the volleyball’s perspective. The title refers specifically to the character Kelly, who the main character is in love with and engage to before his plane crashes and he is stranded. He puts a picture of her in a pocket watch during the film, referring to it as “Kelly time”.

The song is based on the movie CASTAWAY, but from the POV/perspective of "Wilson" (the volleyball) and his/it's relationship with "Chuck" (Tom Hank) while on the Island missing his wife "Kelly" (Helen Hunt) hence the name of the song and the many references to the movie throughout.
Not only are the lyrics and ideas behind the song genius, but the way the tones, sounds, & vocals shift/change throughout the entirety of the song makes it incredible!
Adam Young(Owl City) is an incredible songwriter, storyteller, singer, performer, composer of music, etc. and it's a shame he's not recognized and appreciated more.

Adam literally embodies the art of uplifting Nostalgia in his music, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever heard in my life. My love for his music has only grown as I’ve gotten older, it’s as if the world wasn’t ready for what he’s producing fully, but in a darker day than ever, it shines brighter now than ever before. Adam young reminds people what innocent Joy feels like. I hope he keeps making music.

Adam is such an incredible artist. I’m so grateful to God for him. Many of his songs have played a part in my life through the years. My walk with Jesus, weight loss, relationships, sparking my creative imagination, and encouragement to keep fighting in life are areas I have been impacted. He won’t ever know me but I’ve been sincerely touched by his words, music, and example.

If we were honest, I would imagine those who might be reading this would have a whole pile of memories and moments where Adam has touched our hearts in a meaningful way through his music. Remember that this is not a “given” or expected result, rather a special connection that can and should be cherished.

For years, I always felt like nobody ever really understand my way of thinking or seemingly "odd" music taste.. but ever since I discovered you, I really feel understood in ways I can't even describe. The lyrics, the calm but upbeat tunes, everything - I never even thought it was even possible to connect to music at such a meaningful level, but you've really shown me there's so much beauty in something that hardly lasts a few minutes.

As someone who suffers from chronic depression and doesn't really find much meaning in life, hearing your songs really helps me cope with that, and honestly, has brought me closer to God too.
