I love it! As a kid I worked in a sweater factory in Malden Mass, factory was built in late 1890s in had a dumb waiter to lift fabric to second floor. I was amazed at how it worked with so little effort. I'd love to have this as i can't afford much more, but mostly I love that it self propelled!

I am thinking of building one with counter weights but using water to off set the weight to make it move up and down.

Wow. While this is very impressive, I think it should be equipped with some sort of failsafe, like maybe one of those belaying devices that will catch you even if your belayer looses consciousness.
