The Luna | Paul McBeth | Discraft Disc Review

Just over a year after releasing the first disc in his line-up the Luna, Team Discraft's Paul McBeth is here to let us know how it's been working for him. As his chosen 2020 Tour Series, the new Z Swirl Luna is allowing Paul to shape new lines and get even more distance flex than before.

Do you throw the Luna? What characteristics make it special to you?

I love this disc. Thrown on a hyzer with good speed, it will flip up to flat and glides forever. One of my favorite driving putters. I just wish I would have bought the rare 5x cryztal version but they are impossible to find for a reasonable price.

The luna does not come in many different plastics, besides baseline special blend for putting and variations of Z which are extremely hard to come by for the average person and most people. This is a huge complaint that there is too many limited runs that don’t allow for widespread usage. I wish I could throw a jawbreaker wasp for example, but you can’t get them anywhere. These are such great discs I wish everyone could throw them, although I have more than one Z/CZ Lunas, it’s just not cool having such limited stock and limited runs.

It's been pretty hard to find any Luna lately, anywhere. I've got 3 plastics and love them each for different shots. Grats on making such a great mold and selling the heck out of them!

Comes in many plastics, but each one is only available for like 5 minutes on one website if youre lucky you can get one before the scalpers.

tldr; if you're looking for a 3303 and expect it to actually fly like a 3303, get the Stabilizer.
I finally gave in to the hype, paid 3 times the price of a Challenger for a BigZ Luna, and am SO DISAPPOINTED.
This is like a lower-speed Buzzz or if you prefer, a Challenger mold with 1mm extra rim width. There is no way this is a 3303.
I needed a slower 03 for a <160ft tunnel-shot with a hard left at the end, for which I previously used Shark/Roc/Warrior... but the bigZ Luna just goes straight. It even has some slight turn in mid-flight. When you expect a slower Roc but end up with a slower Comet... ugh!
So after buying this, I bought a STABILIZER, and it is sooo true to numbers.

I wanted to like this disc but it is way too shallow for my hand, I can only fan grip it. Power grip makes for an uncomfortable bend in my fingers first and second digits. I'm liking my sky God much better. That said, I love my zflx zone buzzz and buzzz ss!
