Hey, thanks for the easy to follow demonstration. I have a British RV with a bulkhead regulator that has become defective due to the liquid contamination from the rubber gas pipe fouling the regulator. As they are expensive to replace and I don't want the expense of replacing AND buying stainless pigtails, I've gone old school and now run the gas in direct from the bottle via the old style regulator. I needed to check that the system was gas tight afterwards and this method saved me a lot of messing around and money. Very grateful that you posted this!

The manameter in the video is just a U-shaped tube that is open at both ends so that any water put in it evens out right away. Once one end of it is just connected to something then some pressure results and it will become uneven and that is quite alright. Once the valve on the stove is opened then the manometer reads the total pressure at the valve. It doesn't matter that it was uneven when connected. I hope this answers your question.

is the manometer liquid suppose to be at an uneven level at the start?

It's because it's already plugged!
