PS5 is a PS3
Rumour: Sony working on select PS3 Backwards Compatible titles, natively playable on PS5
Is Sony Making Secret Deals?
Game Science, the developer behind the highly anticipated Black Myth: Wukong, has already explained why the game will only be releasing on PS5 and PC on 20th August – but that’s not stopped bizarre speculation from spreading on social media. You may recall at Summer Game Fest, there was momentary outrage when the _Journey to the Wes_t adaptation was only confirmed for Sony’s system and Steam, however an FAQ from the Chinese studio later clarified that it was taking additional time to “optimise” the Xbox Series X|S versions.
A new report from Windows Central has cast scepticism on the studio’s comments, however. A statement from Microsoft about the delay noted: “We can’t comment on the deals made by our partners with other platform holders, but we remain focused on making Xbox the best platform for gamers, and great games are at the centre of that.” The article then goes on to allege that if a PS5 money hat is involved, it would be “within Sony's interests to cast doubt over the Xbox platform by keeping details of the deal a secret”.
All of this has, unsurprisingly, prompted hysteria online. Some are accusing Sony of “secretly” stealing the title away, and preventing it from releasing on Xbox. Of course, a similar backlash occurred last year with Baldur’s Gate 3, until it later emerged that developer Larian Studios was having issues getting some aspects of the experience to run on the less powerful Xbox Series S. While no such thing has been officially confirmed here, it seems the most likely culprit.
Sony would be talking about it if it was their deal
Last year Baldur’s gate had the same holdup due to Series S being underpowered
It would have been in the State of Play vs SGF
Palworld Coming to PS5
"I want to add more hearts, but not sure what colour would fit…" Bucky said. "Hmm… How about…"
They then added blue-coloured hearts.
Other fans expect to find out more this coming Thursday, 27th June, when Palworld will receive a major Sakurajima update later this month, adding a new island, dedicated Xbox servers, and more. Pocketpair stated last month that long-awaited features would be arriving in the game at the end of June, with the announcement at Summer Game Fest highly anticipated by the millions of Palworld players.
Minecraft Getting Native PS5 Port
"Currently, however, the only way to play Minecraft on a PlayStation 5 is by purchasing the PlayStation 4 version of the game," the announcement reads. "By developing a native version of Minecraft for PS5, we'll be able to make the game run more effectively on the PS5's hardware."
Though Mojang hasn't revealed how long the Minecraft PS5 version preview will last, all are welcome to take part in it, so long as they own the PS4 version of the game. To access it, go to "Settings" on your PS4 version of Minecraft while playing on a PS5 and select "Preview." This preview includes the new Tricky Trials update, so you can venture into the trial chambers, meet a breeze, craft a mace, and more.
