I love Keira Knightley but she plays the same person in pretty much every role. I'm sure you could make a trailer taken from each of her movies and her character will still seem consistent.

If a woman is forced into a loveless marriage, she is within her rights to have an affair. If the affair turns into love, she should be allowed to marry that man after the divorce. It's wrong to brand someone as scandalous before knowing the circumstances of the affair. Alas, when it comes to extra-marital affairs (which are not at all wrong), our society is still in the 19th century.

the book is excellent, so the film had every potential to be great, but the direction was so not good ! also in the movie a lot of important stuff are missing or other crucial parts are not highlighted at all!!

I am Russian and i would rather hear English accent that represents some sort of high class in society. it is extremely lame and annoying to hear fake Russian accents in films.

I wonder how they could compress such a complex story as Anna Karenina in a 2 hours (?) movie. I have to say that Keira as Anna and his husband Karenin look pretty much as I had imagined them, however doesn't count Vronsky look a bit too young here compared to the book? It's just my thought, I feel like he looks more like a boy here than a military official...
Anyway I want to give this movie a try...
