For Hose Bib timers, does the hose line need to be turned on all the time? If so this wont cause extra usage beyond the drip line running?

Hi Adam, thank you for all the amazing videos. Really appreciate all the information. I am about to purchase a drip depot landscape irrigation kit and was wondering if i need to install a 3/4 water hammer arrestor? I have never used one before. However, someone suggested it in a YouTube video, just in case the timer malfunctions and shuts off abruptly. I will be using a 4 outlet timer, 2 fr the drip irrigation lines and other 2 for garden hose. Thank you. Look forward to hearing from you.
