Got this one! Knew it had to be Sardinia based on geography & the fact that I know my napoleonic wars. Getting a final jeopardy question correct when its a triple stumper makes me happy :)

Hit my once a year where I know it and none of the contestants get it. Go me.

Thank you, Latin class, for teaching me the necessary Mediterranean geography to get this right 😊 it’s a shame that and other language classes are being phased out in a lot of places…

I like questions like this because they give you multiple ways to come up with the right answer. You can think, "what war was France fighting in 1793?" You can also think, "What island territories does France have that are north of another nearby non-French island?" For me, it was the second one that got me to the right answer, because I'm better with maps than wars, but I can imagine someone getting it solely on the first part or needing both parts together.

I guessed that it was one or the other, but the question is worded so strangely. I reread it like 8 times and still don't understand if they're asking for the island that was attacked or for the island that did the attacking.

Shockingly easy for players to miss, but it was worded quite confusingly.

I knew this one as soon as I saw the category!

I was thinking it was Elba because of I was thinking of Napoleon.

My knowledge of the Napoleonic Wars really came in handy here!

This wording was stupid, I was thinking whole time that the island that was under attack was north of the French controlled one.

Hah! I got it...guessed it really. I'm the GOAT today!

It took my a few seconds, but I knew it. Those days of killing spare time at elementary school by studying random atlas pages occasionally pay off.

Got it by pure luck. Took a wild guess.

My friends at work would have had no problem with this clue since I recently quizzed them about the Strait of Bonifacio.

How on Earth is this a triple stumper? I can forgive the first contestant for apparently misunderstanding the clue, but for all three to miss it is inexcusable. These are things you should know if you're going to be on Jeopardy!

Another one to my collection of FJs that I get and all contestants miss. Got it right away after my frequent trips to Livorno and Pisa from my years in Florence.

Helps to look at a map now and then guys!! (Also helps that I have been there and knew that Corsica is French but Sardegna is Italian)
Also, did you know that while Napoleon was born on the French owned island of Corsica, his family was actually Italian.

Is it just me or have we seen too many Triple Stumpers recently?
