I was wondering about your feelings on the way some people are like "don't offer solutions, just tell me what didn't work" when asking for playtest feedback. I always have mixed feelings about it cause I totally understand why design ideas from random people who don't know the whole design process doesn't always help, but my designer brain just sort of naturally defaults to "this didn't quite work for me, I feel like it would be easier if it was like this" thinking so I never know what to do when giving feedback

I love your comment about sometimes discounting the feedback from folk who just hate your thing. You can never please everyone!

The only thing you might learn is that maybe you advertised it badly, I guess? If they wanted something very different to what it really is.

Another suggestion for great convention playtesting is Double Exposure's Metatopia in Morristown, NJ. Hopefully conditions will allow it to be in-person this year!
