Most Post Apocalypse songs are usually hardcore or go full on with the "Survival isn't easy" message, which is good, but it's so refreshing to hear a more somber take on the idea of apocalypse. Because it's a really sad narrative when you think about it.

Love how the protagonist progresses here. In “Evolve” on the island, it was just about survival and the uncertainty on whether or not he could do it, but he wasn’t going to back down. On scorched earth, he’s more sure of himself in his abilities and knows he can conquer this ARK. By aberration, the protagonist recognizes the threat in front of him and increasing danger, but isn’t just focused on survival anymore; he knows there’s secrets to uncover here. Fast forward to extinction and the prospect of just surviving is gone, now all that matters is learning the truth and avenging humanity’s remnants. Really well done
