People need to realize that having a season of less epic scenes, especially when introducing so many new characters, is the equivalent to the calm before the storm. It's a tactic.

As someone who has only watched the anime, the animation looks like it has a better budget, but the characters look stiff. On top of that, they are clearly stalling for time in this show to stretch the season out more. The only thing that has any weight is the character relationships but they don’t compare to S1s team.
