Hi Shari! I just liked and commented on a video you did on this very subject, but the video was a year old. I asked for an updated video for 2024, and HERE IT IS! It was as if you've read my mind (and comments) as I was typing it. 🙂 This video is a keeper for when I'm ready to send out requests for quotes in a few months!

We got lucky. Had to go out of state. Dealer doesn't mark up vehicles until they are on the lot. Offered a pull ahead lease which saved $1000. We were good with paying msrp but put half down with a somewhat lower rate.

Those were hpful tips for someone who has no experience and is a first time buyer such as myself. Thanks again!

Very good tips, great informational video.
Unfortunatly dealerships play dirty most of the time and will do whatever they can to charge you the most possible; I really dislike dealing with them, always moved by greed - shame on them. And that's one more reason why Tesla is so much better, there is nothing of this nonsense negotiation, just clear numbers honest prices - kudos to Tesla!

Sound advice. I did a lot of research buying my 2022 Rav hybrid. And those were the steps I followed. And I got dealership to take off the Doc fee as well. I’m confident I got the best deal I could in one of the worst car buying environments. Ordered in 2021 which turned into a 2022 model. I did have to pay the price increase for the 2022 model. But on a Toyota blog, I’ve read some people posting that they were able to get the dealership to honour the price quote if their order was transferred to the new year. Have you heard of this happening?

Another piece of advice. If the dealer has nothing on the lot, what is there to buy. You can't see it, drive it or negotiate for it. Why buy it then? No inventory=no sale.

ALL IN PRICING LAW REQUIRES TO ADVERTISE PRICE OF THE VEHICLE INCLUDING ALL THE FEES.
Except HST and $12.50 omvic fee

In the past there were car buying services that would get the absolute best price from the dealer for a reasonable fee. Do they still exist?

I see you recommend Toyota and Honda especially hybrid cars.
These days Toyotas have at least one year of wait and more than 6 months for Honda.
They are charging an arm and a leg but we still have to wait for so long. What would you suggest we do?

Is there a better deal for hybrid rebates ect..to be done in ontario versus Quebec?

So basically if there is a 3 month wait on a car, you can't negotiate any deals?

The key, as you say is to start the process through an Internet/email service. 15+ years ago, when l was an early Internet Manager we worked out sales opportunities like this:

Walk Ups..."Full boat" fat deal.
Internet..."Volume" skinny deal.

Q. Which deal would benefit YOU more?

If you can't answer that one right, you deserve to get skinned!!!🤭

Is you in Ontario?
What exact "Dealership fees" is you talking about???

dkrawk

What BEST DEAL are you exactly talking about?
Theres no cars to buy!!!
The only thing that you are negotiating is how far is debit machine to put deposit on the car.
