9 TYPES OF ANGELS

Welcome to our exploration of the divine and mystical realms. Today, we embark on a journey through the heavens to discover the different types of angels as described in religious texts and traditions. From guardians to warriors, each angelic being has a unique role and purpose. Let's dive into this celestial hierarchy and uncover the fascinating world of angels.

Seraphim
We begin with the Seraphim, the highest order of angels, known for their burning passion and closeness to God. In Isaiah 6:2-3, Seraphim are depicted as having six wings: two covering their faces, two covering their feet, and two for flying.
In Isaiah 6:2-3, we read: "Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory." showcasing their worship characteristics. More again the tells of their purification facility. In Isaiah's vision, one Seraph flew to him with a live coal in its hand, which it had taken with tongs from the altar. The Seraph touched Isaiah's lips with the coal, symbolizing purification and forgiveness of sins (Isaiah 6:6-7).

Seraphim is the angel that purify the lips of the prophet Isaiah with a live coal taken from the altar (Isaiah 6:6-7).
Traditionally, the chief of the Seraphim is often considered to be Seraphiel, who is sometimes referred to as the angel who stands closest to God.

Cherubim
Next, we have the Cherubim, often depicted as guardians of the divine. Unlike popular culture often portrays cherubs as innocent, childlike beings, the Bible describes Cherubim as mighty and awe-inspiring guardians embodying God's wisdom and omnipresence.
In Genesis 3:24, after Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden, God placed Cherubim to guard the way to the Tree of Life: "After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life."
Cherubim are also prominently featured in the Ark of the Covenant and the inner sanctum of Solomon’s Temple, signifying their role as protectors of sacred spaces and divine mysteries.

Cherubim over the Ark of the Covenant, whose wings spread out above and overshadow the mercy seat (Exodus 25:18-22).

Cherubiel or Kerubiel is often named as a chief among the cherubim in various angelological texts.

Thrones
Thrones are a unique and enigmatic class of angels, often depicted as great, glowing wheels covered in eyes. They are the bearers of God's divine justice and authority, acting as conduits of His will.
In Ezekiel 1:15-21, the prophet describes his vision of these angelic beings: "As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces... Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around."
Thrones are believed to be the carriers of God's justice, reflecting His all-seeing nature and the omnipresence of His authority. They are steadfast in maintaining cosmic order and ensuring that divine laws are upheld throughout the universe.
Ophanim: Angels that represent the authority and justice of God, often seen as the wheels with eyes in Ezekiel's vision (Ezekiel 1:15-21).
Orifiel or Ophiel is frequently cited as a leader among the Thrones.

Dominions
Dominions, also known as Dominations, are the angelic leaders responsible for regulating the duties of lower angels. They ensure that the orders from the higher ranks are executed properly and maintain the harmony of the celestial hierarchy.
Ephesians 1:21 mentions them: "Far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come."

These angels are seen as divine administrators, ensuring that the plans of God are carried out efficiently across all levels of the celestial and earthly realms. They supervise the lower orders of angels, guiding them in their missions to aid humanity.
Zadkiel is often mentioned as a chief of the Dominions.

I am Catholic And we are taught these exact terms ranks duties names of angels. Thank you for this is very important - each angel has prayers to use in their rank to pray. They also keep the balance of the cosmos by raising setting the sun. Moon stars. Etc. but some rule over nations & duties which also have prayers we pray for nations authorities. Like our country and it's government which we need to call on for prayer in these times we live due to ALOT of demonic activity.

What people don't know and it is here....God created beings, in all shapes and sizes. They might be like humans, but most are not. Same with animals. When we get to the next life, you are going to see it all!
