Across the country, there is growing interest in using private rooftop solar panels and other small scale, on-site power sources known as distributed generation (DG). To encourage the introduction of these systems when they first came to market years ago, many states approved a billing system called net metering. Learn more about how net metering works and why current net metering policies must be updated to ensure that private solar customers share the costs of operating and enhancing the nation's energy grid.

Home solar user here. I pay for the energy I use from the grid. I also pay various "supply" and "Generation" fees along with my usage. I'm now paying for solar panels AND for my provider's infrastructure. I'm not sure how "outdated policies" are causing my neighbors to pay more for energy or how I'm "not paying my fair share". This video seems dishonest.
