In this video, I gave information to my viewers and subscribers on how to compute the show money or proof of funds for Canada visitor visa application.
First, I described the meaning of proof of funds as documents showing that an applicant is able to support himself financially in his trip and expenses in Canada.
I noted that while the other pathways have written amount of proof of funds required by the IRCC, the visitor visa does not have. It is up to the applicant to identify the amount he needs to show to the immigration.
I suggested this computation:
Number of people coming.......................1
How long is the stay..................................15 days
Where do you want to go...........................Toronto
Events/Itinerary..........................................your daily expenses:
Daily expenses;
Accommodation........................................$100
Food & transportation................................$100
Sight seeing/events....................................$ 50
----------
Total daily expenses....................................$250
X 15 days
-----------
Total expenses for 15 days..........................$3,750
Conversion in Phil. pesos ...........................Php 150,000
Is this amount enough to be your proof of funds or show money?
The answer is NO, This is just an estimate of your expenses while in Canada. You may have other expenses like airfare, etc. Also, the Canadian Immigration wants to see that your money in your bank is not only placed there for the purpose of travelling but also for your regular expenses.
So I recommend that you double or triple this amount as your show money or proof of funds.
Thank you for watching and hope I was able to give you some information.
Disclaimer; I am not an immigration specialist. This video is for information purposes only. Details here were from my own experience as an immigrant in Canada for 15 years now,. Some are from my own research and from my the people around me who came as temporary residents and foreign workers.
