I found this very intuitive! I've recently bought a Mk2 Focus (Manual) 2006 after saying goodbye to my first car - a Vauxhaull Corsa Mk3 from 2009. I was a bit dubious about buying and older and cheaper car, but so far it seems to be okay and it only has 59, 000 miles on the clock! Obviously I'm not a car expert but this was a very in depth and helpful video to get to grips with my new motor! Thank you!

Mk2 Focus will always hold a special place for me. My parents had one when I was young, an ‘05 Machine Silver 1.6 (100) LX 5 door like yours. We got it when it was 1 year old & (at the time) it was the newest car we ever had & the first with air con & a CD player. It still smelt new inside & had been so lightly used that the export receipt from the factory in Spain was still in the glovebox. I was utterly smitten with it.

I have a 2006 4 door sedan with a 1.6 TDCI 90BHP diesel engine!
Love it!

It's a timeless car; I love that. With this design, it never gets old.
I'm using a 1.6L Benzine 100 HP Hatchback Ghia Version from 2005.
It has everything I need in this car (safety and basic features).

The suspension is excellent and easy to control.
Consumption 7.7L/100 km (37 mpg) It's alright.

Three years ago I just changed the new radio with the rearview camera.
So I will use this car for longer and maintain it as well as possible.

Had my 2007 1.6 petrol for 6 years now. It was my first car, had it for two years before giving it to my partner and buying a insignia. Inaignia broke a year ago, so boyfriend points she has a new honda and I am back in my ford focus again! Such a good car, only replaced front coils since I owned it

Great car and video. Thanks for all the Mark 2 tips, I've owned my Mk 2 Focus estate for 15 years and see the glove box in a whole new light now!

I have this exact year and model with about 94000 miles on it. It's been in my family since new, but no one has changed the cam belt... I know it's 10 years or 100, 000 miles to change it, so I definitely need to get it done soon!

Totally agree with you about the fabric and performance, but overall, it just does the job!

My wife and I both have MK 2 auto’s bought them with mileage under 35, 000 and paid under £3, 000 each. When I bought them I crawled underneath and waxoiled the underbody and parts which are not near the brakes. Never failed an MOT.

I used to have a Mk2 1.8tdci estate, bought for £490 in 2018 at just under 174k and sold last year at 213k. Really good dependable car, I only sold it as the clutch was on the way out and I had a sense it was going to become a money pit. I now have a Mk3.5

A great video. I am surprised with the difference between each focus trim level. As you know I have filmed a few mk2.5 (titanium and zetec) and a mk2 ghia estate. I forgot, do you have 2 mk2’s

Got to see the giraffes have subbed :p

Love your channel CarSpy. Lots of info & tips for my 2011 Focus Zetec
Any chance you could do a video on how to change the Pollen Filter on this car?

Great video. I believe the focus mk 2 or 2.5 if looked after is one of the best cars ford have produced as they seem to be bomb proof. I've owned my 2010 plate style 1.6 automatic for 12 years now and recently had the water pump and cam belt replaced and I must say it still drives like new but I must say it's never been abused... the only gripe was the bonnet lock mechanism suddenly stopped working which I replaced my self and I believe it's a common problem on the mk2.. personally I would keep my 2010 focus as I believe thay are more reliable and better built than the newer models

So agree with the 'water stains' on seat fabric. Even opening the door when wet will splash the little blighters with wet spots! Have you discovered a method of reliable removal? I sometimes use my Lidl hand held steamer, but occasionally, that makes it worse!
