Sony GM 35mm f1.4 - My new favourite 35mm

Hey everyone!! First up I want to say a big thank you to Sony Australia for getting this 35mm in my hands early so I can have this video up for you guys. Today we're doing a first look of this GM 35mm f1.4 from Sony, testing out the autofocus, Dan and I do a little photoshoot of each other, we take a look at 100% view unedited sample photos, look for lens flares, test out the bokeh, chromatic aberration and a little comparison with the Zeiss 35mm f1.4 as well!

I’m so much more impressed by Sony glass than anything Canon has to offer. Not to mention that Canon’s high end glass is just ridiculously overpriced. Looks like I’m selling my R6 when the A7IV comes out! Amazing stuff, Julia! As usual!

Is it just me or does the Zeiss have more clear and varied color rendition in the green-yellow - range? In the comparison shots I feel the GM renders few zones in monotone which the Zeiss renders in variety of different green and yellow hues?

jeez, the sony screen image quality making me want smash my eyes!!! Why does sony love their crappy lcd screen so much? They use it even in their very popular a7siii, and future a9ii and a7iv, no upgrade at all!!! The screen is the worest in the whole camera industry.

Probably still prefer the rendering of the Zeiss but the weight/size difference is impressive

image rendition on the gm version looks so beautiful, I hope they refresh the 85 1.4 GM or the 90mm this year.. sony is in fire this year, covid hit them differently

man the A7C with the 35GM just looks sexy, like the actual physical appearance of the camera. the lens IQ obviously looks amazing
