The immobilizer is a great way for the owner to not be able to start his own car.

There is a 15AMP fuse located under the hood.under ACG 15amp. This fuse controls the circuit of your immobilizer system. At least, this is on the honda pilot models. Check yours for your particular honda. Sometimes, that fuse blows up. Get a test light and check both ends yo see if it is ok. You can also pull it out and see if its metal connection is severed. If it is replace it ONLY with the same amperage, never put a higher or lower fuse then what it calls for. If you have more than one key and the car starts with the other keys, then your problem was that particular key, which means the battery inside is dead and needs to be replaced or the chip is defective inside that key. However, if NONE of your keys work to start the car, then check the immobilizer system. Typically, you will see a green key symbol flashing all the time. On a good running Honda it should not be there. There is a receiver by the.ignition switch which recognizes the key allowing the vehicle to start.

Sorry to inform you but a competent automotive locksmith can supply, cut and program the majority of Honda vehicles.

So all the money that used to go to car thieves, is now going to car dealers. A thief by a different name is still a thief. The only people who benefit from this scam are car dealers and insurance companies.

Those keys are ridiculously expensive (over $100) and a tow truck fare to the dealership where a hefty bill awaits you if you lose them. I fail to see anything friendly about that.

You do NOT have to buy them from a Honda dealer. Dude is lying through his teeth to ensure his paycheck. Typical stealership mentality.

Useful info, but I wish there would be more security features included by the manufacturer. The alarm doesn't` prevent theft either.

Yeah I'm stuck because of this system, and I'm supposed to see about new job tomorrow. I can't afford to tow it 25 miles and then the charge from Honda. Great system, Honda engineering.
