How will history remember Joe Biden? | LBC

Following Joe Biden's address to the nation for the first time since the results of the US election, Nick Ferrari asks what his presidential legacy will be.

He is joined by Professor Stephen Barber, a Political Economist and Professor of Global Affairs at the University of East London, and Christopher Walton, a Democrat Strategist & Delegate for Wisconsin to the Democratic Convention.

Professor Barber believes that Biden was 'strong' at handling the economy, citing the growth of GDP today versus before the pandemic in the US as evidence.

Christopher Walton tells Nick that Biden had a 'successful legislative term' and that he 'fought for 50 years to get to the White House’. Yet, Nick asks why these things were not mentioned during Harris' campaign.

In his speech outside the White House, President Biden promised a "peaceful transition of power". He added that he has spoken on the phone and he reassured him there will be a peaceful changeover. He has pledged to work with Donald Trump during the last 73 days of his administration.

Scary Special Coucil report said he didn't remember when he was VP. Not funny either, sad, it could happen to all of us one day.

Joe Biden's own memory is the more pressing concern. 😊

He will be remembered for aiding Israel and selfishly walking America off the cliff for Trump.

The number of jobs created post covid would always be quite high as a lot of companies would just be recruiting existing vacancies.

Americans are struggling with inflation? The UK had periods when our inflation rate was double.

mr. walton at the end has the wrong takeaway. treating the election results as a moral failing on the voter’s part instead of the democrats simply failing to communicate with citizens is precisely the attitude that cost them this election.

The first caller seems to not realise the UK can fit in the size of one USA state. He’s compared USA growth as something the UK would have liked to get. Is he out of his mind?! That is like comparing a grape with a watermelon. What a delusional caller. And he is a professor? A professor of stupidity!

He stepped up every single time we asked him to. His support of Obama, he filled in when nobody else would step up to the orange scourge. And then when everything was going so well, except his age, we dumped him and he still pulled it all off with great humility and true sweetness. Thank You Joe Biden, Debbie Wasserman Shultz owes you. You out classed them all.
