How to TRACE a PHOTO on PROCREATE #Shorts

Procreate Short Tutorial!
In this short video I will show you how you can trace a photo in Procreate.

Tracing a photo is actually a good exercise, it'll help improve your hand eye coordination and you will learn about anatomy as you go. Tracing is only cheating when you claim to have drawn it by hand. So just go ahead and have fun! It's super relaxing actually.

It's still a hand drawn image. It is not cheating.
IDK why people get hung up on an artist tracing an outline. Its one way that you can enlarge or shrink and item and still maintain correct proportions.
And if you shade it in and add your own touches, you still drew everything that makes it complete.

An extra tip: If you don't want the image to show up in the timelapse go to the wrench and press add, then swipe right on the insert photo option and you should see insert private photo, then just use the image you saved.

İ think the best way to get better at art is to trace images! İ did it all the time (and İ still do, for hair and things) and it got me much better than İ was! :D

just a reminder that if you are going to post traced drawings for exercise on social media, always ALWAYS credit whoever owns the photo. Even better if you can ask them for permission before posting. The best is to trace/study photos you've taken yourself

And just claiming "found on google/pinterest, ctto" is NOT how you credit someone's photograph 🤦

Another way is to split screen on your iPad, then hold and drag the image directly onto the canvas in Procreate

The tracing shouls be the least of everyones concern. There is still coloring/shading involved that actually takes skill
