India's BrahMos Aerospace has confirmed advanced discussions with the Philippine Army for the acquisition of multiple BrahMos anti-ship missile coastal batteries. This deal could significantly enhance the Philippines' coastal defense capabilities against maritime threats, including in the West Philippine Sea. Initially planned for two batteries under Horizon 2, the project has now expanded to nine batteries under the Integrated Shore-Based Anti-Ship Missile System Acquisition Project, covering both the Philippine Army and Marine Corps.
