Jordy found the progression of Velma to be so fascinating she made her own video about it (and its hilarious, too):

I'm strangely satisfied with how chill and healthy John Likeglass ended up being.
No nonsense, no weird cartoon fetish. Just a guy who felt a nostagia strike with a character.

The irony of this Scooby/Velma community doing nothing about the mysterious disappearance of their community’s main character is actually hilarious.

It’s so rare that I see an internet rabbit hole that isn’t littered with depravity, tragedy and cruelty. There was an actual happy ending to this video for pretty much everyone involved. It’s… nice to see something heart warming once in a while.

This made me a little emotional everybody in this video seems absolutely lovely from Ashton to "John", Ashton found himself and John was an absolutely lovely character

Online fandoms can become so toxic and destructive. It's so nice to see a story about fandom where the people involved have learned, grown, and seem to be doing very well in the present. I'm very happy that this was a fulfilling story to uncover.

With the title I was expecting this to be either darker or more sarcastic. I’m really glad to see the video turn out the way you did. I feel like you treated everyone you talked to with a great deal of respect and still managed to share a great story

Remember: Anything can be an ARG if you cyber-stalk enough.

John seems like such a cool dude, ran with a band in his youth, made a site dedicated to a cartoon, and got to see a bunch of skeletons. Also looking forward to the rest of the series.

He would've gotten away with it if it weren't for you -pesky- *meddling* kids

I like the fact he wasn't one of those guys who freaks out about how the character changes. As the years went by he just lost interest in Velma but instead of raging about it or getting mad he just knew it was time to move on. People in fandoms need to learn that from him and understand nothing will stay the same forever

For anybody curious, since they mentioned that the episode including John Likeglass was fake but didn't elaborate. The wiki they were on was a fan-fiction wiki for fans to share their creations. The episode is shown to be a part of is a fan-made hypothetical series based off of the idea that WB found lost scripts for the original show and began to air them. The guy wrote 100 episodes for this fake season so that's some pretty intense dedication.

As someone who used to be heavily into the Homestuck fandom at its peak, I fully understand how Ashton feels/felt about the Scooby-Doo fandom. I'm just glad that everyone involved with this is okay and doing well for themselves, especially John. I was worried something worse would come up, but he's just a cool guy with a beekeeping channel co-owned with his best friend. That's totally awesome!

As someone who’s experienced the agony of dial-up, getting booted every time someone called and had 100s of AOL CD-ROMs, I think “Internet Archaeology” is a perfect title for the series!

Your reaction to the fake episode of scooby doo was really funny lmao. There's a whole rabbit hole of people that make fake episodes of tv shows as a sort of fanfiction on fanon wikis. It's odd, but nothing conspiratorial

Just a regular guy, who liked Velma from Scooby Doo, nothing bad… just a guy.
That’s soo refreshing to see someone who made an online website about a character be someone who’s just great! Nothing dark, nothing twisted. We really need more people like him online.

John is such a sweet man, I feel bad that he sorta lost that spark he had with the show, he deserves to have that piece of his childhood back

As someone who runs a small but weirdly popular neocities website for uploading my quantum research and personal projects, seeing you guys go to such lengths to find this person is so interesting. Good topic pick, good edit. The quality of your vids speak for themselves.

This is genuinely one of the greatest deep-dive videos I've seen. A part of that is simply because it's feel-good—in a way that's unexpected and very much "lightning in a bottle"—but it's also great to see a channel that is doing more in their investigation than just browing 4chan boards and reddit thread comments. You're actually linking from website to website, calling people... it's a rush to watch. Well done.

Damn dude has a super interesting life. Number one velma fan, worked with bands that are still well known today, discovered a bunch of decapitated corpses and became a beekeeper. So cool
