Real headline is : US has spent $170 billion on US weapons for its forces to replace the old equipment it gave to Ukraine.
Real value $1billion.

The thing that sucks about dropping munitions on farmland is that the farm land becomes contaminated with explosive residue, which has huge health affects.

No worries guys.... Ukraine won't see one dollar but rather get the equipment. Your tax dollars stay in the US making billionaires richer....

Sending old armaments to Ukraine in defense of democracy, uses these weapons before their “shelf life” expires, helps a sovereign country and allows us to replenish our own armaments instead of destroying them ourselves.

Jeeesus! Everybody focus on money spent and not on young man dieing. Sad 😢

Ukraine is willing to do the fighting all they ask is for the weapons. This is the best thing democracies around the world could hope for. Stopping Putin is protecting Europe and the NATO alliance. Not stopping Putin puts all of Europe in danger and democracies around the world at risk of being dragged into a larger conflict

I'd rather the equipment go to defending a country than to US soldiers invading one.

Ukraine doesn’t get the money 💰 it is the equipment in dollar amount we are sending. And because we are sending old & end of shelf life equipment, it saves us millions in disposal costs $$$

Remember when we all used to have a say if we gave them money instead of our government giving our money away?

I thought we all hated Putin????
So then why are we complaining about weakening his military and economic power?

A few billion out of an _annual_ military budget of about 900 billion dollars

The number varies from 10B-300b depending on … despite that it is a very good investment to grind the main geostrategic enemy to level of 1950s.

I'm ok with that may Ukraine overcome their enemy

175 billion is one month’s deficit for the US. Very little in the grand scheme of things.

How much they pledge is irrelevant; what actually matters is how much materiel they provide and, of the 60billion pledged, only about 10% has actually been delivered.

The free world must help by standing up against bullying tyrants. I am sure the armaments industry is shedding no tears over all that cash flooding its way!

I'll never get over how republican went from "we hate Russia" to "lets do everything we can to help Russia" its the wildest 180 in politics

We have already spent TRILLIONS of dollars on defense against Russia over my lifetime. That being said helping Ukraine is pennies on the dollar to achieve a more lasting result. Ever hear the saying…. You can pay me now or pay me later?
