and the mobo alone would set u back hundreds of dollars
even to this day they are selling used for ridiculous prices

Oh how I know this socket my old high end computer has this, originally running with an i7 6900K. That bastard died on me for whatever reason, so for finding the problem without any testing hardware, the system was disassembled many times. Afterall, I found out the CPU had simply died and got a used i7 6950X, which works fine to this day, despite the base PCB looking pretty beaten up.
It's my secondary computer, my main one is an i9 9900K.
