That's a fantastic story! I always enjoy clips from Buffet's and Charlie Munger's annual shareholder meetings. They indeed talk in a very straightforward way. You pointed out that when writing a copy one should speak to one person. It's very true because even though a lot of marketing messages are one to many like advertising or emails we should always have our avatar in mind and write in a very specific, focused way. The #1 problem here that I've found and I believe many people can relate is we think that we'll go too narrow with our message and thus nobody's going to engage but usually the engagement skyrockets because the folks feel as if the copy was written exclusively for them.

The Warren Buffet statement, " Never invest in something you don't understand", reminded me of what William Zinsser said about writing, "Never let anything go out into the world that you don't understand." The video was helpful because it reminds any writer not to write for themselves but for the reader. Thanks, Clare, and I am not calling you ma'am.
