GROW: La'Toni Cromes

Показать описание
Creative Greensboro welcomes La’Toni Cromes of Stated (& nem) for a six-week residency with the Greensboro Residency for Original Works (GROW) program from November 5 to December 16. La’Toni will lead “Unplugged,” a workshop series for teens and adults facilitating real-life interactions to foster teaching, learning, imagination, and creativity without the use of screens or technology. Inspired by the understated joys of living and building community during the 90’s and early 2000’s, each workshop will highlight a different form of artistic literacy ranging from creative writing to crochet.
Throughout her residency, La’Toni will host “State My Word Wednesdays,” an interactive weekly event celebrating literacy, expression, and community through games, performances, discussions, or creative activities. Alongside the Wednesday series, La’Toni will partner with guest facilitators to offer workshops in writing, photography, fashion, and fiber arts. The residency will culminate with a live showcase titled “The U & US,” or “The Unplugged & Understated Showcase,” highlighting the art created by facilitators and participants over the course of the whole series. The showcase will take place on December 6 during Downtown Greensboro’s First Friday.
