Locate the secret code for 2006 -2011 Honda Radio with Navigation

If your radio and navigation system aren't working after you've disconnected your Honda battery then you will need a code to reset the system, but finding this code can be tricky. So instead of going to your Honda dealer, which can be pricey, here is the procedure to locate the serial number of the radio (required by Honda) along with the VIN # to obtain the "secret code" that unlocks your radio/navigation system. This worked for my 2009 Honda Fit.

OR... you can call the dealer and give them the serial number of the vehicle and they might tell you the code. It is also, in most instances, printed or written on the original Bill of Sale for the vehicle. If it was a 3rd-hand used car, you may have difficulty. I also learned years ago to always carry a "cheater." A foot-long cord available at any auto parts store for a song. Hook up a 9-volt battery to one end and insert the other end into the cigarette lighter. It's more than enough power to last while you do most single-day repairs. The low voltage won't operate any of the electric functions in the vehicle but it will provide enough current to maintain the memories in your GPS/Radio, seat settings (optional feature) and the way you comb your hair <s>. And the final piece of advise, now that you found that number, put it on a piece of paper and stuff it in your wallet.

You can also find your Vin number on your insurance card. Should you be an insurance holder for that which you drive. 😂

I just got my car back from the shop and it says error code 1. I'm guessing the mechanic tried so many times that I'm now locked out? No way I'm paying to fix this. You think giving $700 to a mechanic that you would get your car back working how it should? My radio was the best part of this car, 2011 Acura MDX. This is an anti-theft code that I've never heard of before today. Who the hell is stealing stock radios to the point they needed this? I bought this car used but it came with all those different books you showed. Of course the code isn't anywhere in those books or anywhere in the car. The serial # isn't even in the glovebox 🤷🏻‍♂️. I'll go back to Toyota after this cuz that's how petty I am lol

What website for European Honda's?

I tried the website and got a 5 digit number, called customer service and they gave me a 4 digit number — which of course didn’t work. Now they’re telling me to take it to a dealer to “hard reset” it which is probably gonna cost me $100 at least knowing dealers. How in the fuck Honda made such a simple thing a calamitous pain in the ass doesn’t fail to surprise me

I'm just wondering if this will work on a system put together from junk yard parts....let the games begin with the 09 Accord
