How To Allow WhatsApp Access To Photos

Let's enable WhatsApp to access your camera roll gallery photos or videos so you can send them to your friends.

Thanks for this video. It helped give me a rough idea of how to fix the issue on a S22 Android.

For S22 Android users, go to settings> apps> what's app> permissions
Under the not allowed portion, select photos and videos and allow them. You should be set.

**For other android users, these instructions may not work for your phone. But they may help give you some direction on where to start looking to figure it out. Goodluck. If anyone using different android products figures it out, please post the version of phone and what you did to get it working.

This didn’t help… it keeps saying WhatsApp doesn’t have access on the app when I try to send a screenshot. When I tried these particular steps, there was no list of apps showing after hitting Photos. It says “Apps that have requested access to your photos will appear here” and then the rest of the page is blank.

Mine says "Private Access" and for the life of me I can't change it, there is no option. I even reinstalled the app. What else can I do ?
