Toni Reviews is a youtube channel dedicated to real rider reviews, from a London born and bred cockney. In this video I look at heat wrapping the exhaust down pipes on my Triumph Street Twin. One failed attempt I show you how NOT to do it and then hopefully show you some tips to help a successful installation.

Like and subscribe to my channel 'Toni Reviews' for more honest bike related news and reviews.

Where I purchased my wrap - TEC bike parts

Ebay also do it but it wasnt as glossy in appearance, although the actual blend and weave of the ebay wrap looked tighter. I'd be interested to see what you go with and how it looks finished so drop some pics, comments in the comments box.

This is brilliant! Makes me feel a little more confident about potentially doing this myself.

Thanks for sharing. This is a great help and should increase the chances of doing a good job the first time around.

I heard ceramic coating pipes are good too. What does any one think? Maybe ceramic coat with a good wrapping? Also before you take it off wetting the old wrap might stop fiberglass floating around?

Why did your first job fray like that. Is that common or did you do something improperly that caused that?

Hi! Would you say that the wrap accelerates the rusting of the exhaust? If so, do you think that soaking the fibers in wax could work ok against rust? Thanks a lot, and great bike!

Thanks for sharing Toni! Been wondering about this!

Why did you put it on the way that the "ugly" side is visible? And the nice overlapped?

So I got exhaust wrap last week, and decided to install it like 2 hours ago. So being a stupid person that I am, I did not wear gloves, I was wearing a mask though. And now I can feel the sharpness feeling in my hands and arms and Idk how to get rid of it. Any help?

Love your bike! Best bike I ever had was a Triumph Daytona 675R. Unfortunately someone ran me over when I was riding it... Bike got the worst of it.

Why do the exhaust pipe heat up so much? I have custom pipes for my VTX1800 and they sure get super hot. Should it be a concern at all?

Should have taken the header completely off then sanded/grind down to bare metal and coated with 2, 000 degree Rust-Oleum primer and 2, 000 degree Rust-Oleum flat black paint then wrapped it
! The metal would not rust as fast as it will now especially after soaking the wrap in water and putting it on the already rusting pipe

Hi Toni, what's the size and length of the wraps needed for each pipe?

I did it today on my Cobra Streetrod Slashdown but covered it under the chrome cover. Exausts are extremely hot now. Is it correct? I dont want to burn or overheat something...

Do the titanium wraps also have fibers then get on clothes?

It was a good video thank you. It would be better ( please don’t take this personally ) to take the pipes off, clean all the rust off, spray with heat resistant paint. Apply the heat wrap when dry spray over the wrap with heat resistant silicon paint, when dry refit. Take care

You need to put up a shot of the whole bike at the end!
