Monroe police video discourages panhandlers

A video that Monroe police posted on their Facebook page discourages people from giving money to panhandlers and instead asks them to give money to charities that help the homeless.

It all depends what they are asking for if someone says food I go get them food and drink someones cold gloves Jacket hat if I dont know where thay money is going its staying in my pocket I've given randos before and basically sometimes to make them go away but in my community people abuse it if you give them 10 bucks they will not use it for what they need they spend on what they want and some are true blue ive seen more looking for work signs that I'm homeless.. if they are very aggressive I tell them to go away and they usually do because they ln now they're wrong for instance a older guy was at a 711 in Poughkeepsie ny and he said I wanted a beer to me honesty is everything I went in and got him that beer but I can see from a shy stand point especially woman and woman with children it's a crazy world but you also have to teach humility so my son had asked if we can spare anything for this guy it made me super proud it was winter almost and he had shorts on we went and got him boots a coat and gloves I told my son this or a toy he chose the right thing so he got his toy he got cake and ate it too.. shiverly is not dead! let's be a better generation than our last for the future of our world.

For the cops to advise people not to help others is bs they have asked for donations before themselves smh and to assume they are buying drugs is stupid and juz wrong some homeless people do buy food and if they are hungry and have no means to get a job then its completely against humanity to tell people not to help others in need ....guess what cops without tax dollars you too would have no money.."protect and serve"? Pfft get real
